"Occupied Lawfully"

Otago District Law Society 1979 - 2004

In 1979, Lawfully Occupied, by Dr Michael Cullen was published as a history of the first 100 years of the Society. Such has been the pace of change since that, during the 125th anniversary the Society decided to update Lawfully Occupied - and a new publication, Occupied Lawfully, is the result.

The book gives a detailed account of those changes in professional life - in technology, office practice, the structure of the Courts, workloads, legal education, the social side of the law and a number of other facets of legal life.

The chapters have been written by the people with first hand experience of these changes and underlining their stories are two important themes - pride in the continuing achievements and collegiality of the Society and a conviction that Otago is one of the best places to practice.

Price to members of the Society: $49.95
Price to non-members: $56.00
